The German plastics trade group IK recently participated in a survey on the image of airpop/EPS (also known as polystyrene) packaging. The survey, initiated by Ri*QUESTA, showed that the
plastic packaging material was very flattering.
This type of survey was also initiated in 2013, and the image made from EPS has improved by 11%. According to the survey, in Germany, 54% of the population currently have a good impression of EPS packaging. Their focus is on the packaging of home appliances and consumer electronics. In an important group such as policy makers, the support rate for EPS packaging has also increased by 20%.
The people involved in the survey said that the biggest advantage of this kind of packaging is that it can protect products efficiently and is very light. However, they expressed doubts about the recycling rate of packaging and related resource protection.
“We are very pleased that everyone has made a significant improvement in the impression of EPS packaging, especially the practicality of this material,†said IK General Manager UlfKelterborn. The survey results show that the ongoing public relations activities have taken effect in the past few years. In the future, we will not only pass on the protective functions of this special product, but also preach resource protection, especially the appropriate recycling method.
