By analyzing these pressures, technicians can effectively diagnose issues and ensure the regulator operates safely and efficiently. The process begins with the detection of the regulator's outlet pressure (P2). Using an internal station pressure recorder, a 24-hour continuous pressure test is conducted to monitor fluctuations and stability. If irregularities are detected, it may indicate a malfunction in the regulator, which requires immediate attention to restore normal operation. Next, the closed pressure (Pb) is assessed. Under normal operating conditions, one pressure regulating station should be running while ensuring the pipeline network continues to supply air. The valve after the pressure regulator is then closed, and the outlet pressure is observed. As the pressure gradually rises and stabilizes at a certain level (P), it is compared to 1.25 times the P2 value. If P is less than or equal to 1.25P2, the regulator is functioning properly. However, if P exceeds this threshold, it suggests instability, and repairs must be carried out promptly. Lastly, the safety shut-off valve blocking pressure (Pq) is tested. Again, the system must be in normal operation, with the pipeline network supplying air. The pressure regulator is adjusted to reach the set blocking pressure, and the safety shut-off valve is checked for proper activation and response. This ensures that the valve can quickly respond in case of emergencies, maintaining system integrity and safety. By following this comprehensive three-pressure testing procedure, operators can identify potential problems early, perform timely maintenance, and guarantee a reliable and safe gas supply.
