Increase the vitamin C content in feed to prevent fish disease

To determine the effects of vitamin C on the growth and pathology of diseased Nile tilapia, Egyptian fisheries researchers conducted experiments. The average weight of the test fish was 20 g, and the feeds supplemented with vitamins C0 mg/kg, 50 mg/kg, 150 mg/kg, 250 mg/kg, 500 mg/kg, and 1000 mg/kg were administered for 12 weeks. The growth of fish fed with no vitamin C feed was measured. The addition of vitamin C 50 mg/kg prevented the lack of symptoms of the fish. The addition of 150 mg/kg increased the weight gain, feed conversion rate, specific growth rate and protein efficiency of tilapia. The protein content of the fish body increases with the addition of vitamin C in the feed, and the fat content decreases. The content of vitamin C in fish tissue is spleen, liver, muscle and kidney. Feeding tilapia with bacteria to different levels of vitamin C feed, the mortality rate of diseased fish without feeding vitamin C feed is more than 90%, and the survival rate of sick fish fed with vitamin C 1000mg/kg feed is over 90%. The symptoms of pathological infection gradually disappeared. q6N China Feed Industry Information Network - based on feed, serving animal husbandry
