Another way to solve the problem of silicon block cutting

After the silicon ingot is sliced into silicon blocks, the resulting pieces may vary in size due to the cutting process. Some of these pieces are small and do not meet recycling standards, as using them would lead to high costs and inefficiencies. Additionally, a low yield of properly cut blocks can significantly affect production efficiency. To address this issue, several ideas have been proposed for handling small silicon blocks.

Previously, the method involved measuring each small piece individually, then arranging them to achieve a suitable size before bonding them together using stick glue. These bonded pieces were then attached to a glass plate, typically requiring at least four small pieces per unit. However, this process was time-consuming, as each bonding session needed approximately 8 hours to cure. In one day, only about 10 saw pieces could be completed, which slowed down the overall workflow. Moreover, during the cutting process, issues such as uneven film application or soft adhesive caused thick slices or even angled cuts, further lowering the pass rate.

To improve efficiency, a new approach has been considered. Instead of using stick glue, small silicon pieces are now directly adhered to the glass surface. A gap of around 10-15mm is maintained between the pieces to ensure proper alignment and avoid any interference during the cutting stage. It's crucial to place the pieces flat on the glass to maintain stability and prevent any adverse effects on the final cut. This method simplifies the process, reduces labor time, and helps increase the overall yield of usable silicon blocks, making it a more efficient solution for handling smaller pieces.
