First, avoid removing too many lower leaves too early. Cucumber plants rely heavily on photosynthesis from their leaves, so as long as the bottom leaves remain green, there is no need to remove them prematurely.

Second, apply balanced fertilization techniques. Start with organic base fertilizer, and follow a specific ratio of nutrients: Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K), Calcium (Ca), and Magnesium (Mg) should be in the ratio of 5:2:6:9:0.7. When using quick-acting fertilizers, make sure to supplement micronutrients like boron and zinc. To prevent root and leaf aging, you can spray a compound microbial foliar fertilizer at a dilution of 200 times, once every 7 days, and repeat this 2–3 times if needed.

Third, manage watering carefully. Water in smaller amounts each time, and avoid long intervals between waterings, especially during hot weather.

Fourth, don't allow the plant to produce too many fruits. Overloading the plant can stress it, leading to premature aging of leaves and an increased risk of cucumber bending. Make sure to harvest regularly and avoid leaving too many fruits on the vine.

Fifth, if the cucumbers have already started to bend, you can gently support them using small stones or bricks placed under the fruit. This helps them straighten naturally over about 7 days.
