Why are more and more "foreign brands" showing a growing interest in the Chengdu Furniture Fair? It's widely seen as a crucial stepping stone for entering the vast Chinese market. Two representatives from the Asia International Furniture Material Trading Center Pavilion shared their insights, emphasizing the enormous potential of the southwestern furniture materials market centered around Chengdu. As the largest and most influential professional exhibition in the furniture industry in southwestern China, the Chengdu Furniture Fair serves as the ideal platform for both furniture material suppliers and finished furniture manufacturers.
Compared to the global and modern styles showcased by finished furniture exhibitors, the Chengdu Furniture Fair has already established itself as a forward-thinking event by attracting major international machinery and raw materials companies. This year, from July 3rd to 6th, 21 companies from nine countries, including the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Japan, and Israel, will participate. One notable participant is AkzoNobel, a Fortune Global 500 company and a leading global decorative paint manufacturer.
According to the organizing committee, the significant presence of these renowned international brands will enhance the exhibition's prestige and highlight its growing international appeal. A representative mentioned, "The Chengdu Furniture Fair is one of the most vital events in China’s furniture industry. Its increasing quality and expanding scale have placed it at the heart of the sector and made it an annual priority for our company."
Jiang Hua, Assistant General Manager of Chengdu New Oriental Exhibition Co., Ltd., noted that partnerships in Shanghai reported that nearly 20 top-tier international home furnishings brands plan to join the fair next year. During this year's event, they intend to meet with their partners and explore further opportunities. The French Consulate General in Chengdu also confirmed that their staff would attend and assess the fair.
At the start of this year, several heavyweight foreign furniture brands, such as American ASHLEY, SUNISE, and Vera Wang, announced their entry into the Chinese market. Statistics reveal that in 2011, household furniture consumption in China grew by 64.5%, highlighting the immense market potential driving foreign brands' interest.
With such momentum, the Chengdu Furniture Fair is poised to remain a cornerstone of the furniture industry, drawing global attention and fostering business connections across the region.
