This year's Waterstone International Sales Meeting truly went global. Waterstone extended an invitation to all its national and Canadian sales representatives to join them on the Carnival Cruise Ship Imagination. It was a mix of business and leisure, providing a well-deserved reward for the hard work put in by their reps and their spouses. After a record-breaking year for Waterstone, our team certainly deserved this break. The event took place from January 25th to 27th, allowing some New Englanders and Canadians to escape the record snowstorms and bask in the warmth of California's sunshine.
After departing from the port of Long Beach, the Imagination set sail toward Catalina Island off the coast of Los Angeles. Many of the team members embraced the adventurous spirit, going zip-lining or taking the safari bus in search of buffalo. Others chose a more relaxed pace, strolling through the charming streets of Avalon, shopping, and enjoying the breathtaking ocean views.
The next day was all business. The meeting commenced with Bob Santella, the Vice President of Marketing and Sales, introducing the representatives and celebrating another year of record-breaking sales. This marks four consecutive years of such achievements for Waterstone! Following this, President Chris Kuran delivered the state of the business address. Chris highlighted the significant improvements in customer service and manufacturing. Last year, Waterstone made substantial investments in machinery, and the representatives had the opportunity to see all the new equipment at the factory. There were also presentations on further enhancements in plating and finishing, as well as the expansion of the factory floor and the addition of many new employees to help reduce lead times.
The highlight of the day came next—introducing new products for 2015. First up was the Wheel Pulldown Faucet, a true reinvention of the classic Wheel design. Modeled after the wheel of a ship, this unique faucet showcases Waterstone as the most innovative kitchen faucet designer in the industry. Then came the Two Handle Kitchen faucets, with three new additions to the Annapolis, Hampton, and Towson suites. The standout feature of these faucets is the new braking system designed to prevent handle sag. Despite a few cases of seasickness, the meeting went smoothly.
Our next destination was the coastal city of Ensenada, Mexico. It was a fantastic day filled with shopping, delicious local cuisine, and, of course, the famous margaritas. As we walked down the main street, we were greeted by enthusiastic vendors and merchants offering incredible deals, with cries of “Almost free!†echoing around us.
