Introduction to the use of electric oil pumps

The electric hydraulic pump is a versatile device that consists of four main components: the pump housing, a rectangular oil reservoir, a pressure handle, and a high-pressure steel braided hose. As a critical element in hydraulic systems, it functions by converting mechanical energy from a prime mover into the potential energy of hydraulic fluid. This pump serves as the power source for the entire hydraulic system and can be categorized into three common types: gear pumps, vane pumps, and piston pumps. Additionally, the pump comes with different connector options, such as straight-through, self-sealing, and quick-connect types, offering flexibility for various applications.

Electric hydraulic pumps are widely used in industrial and mechanical settings. They can serve as the core component of various hydraulic tools, enabling operations like lifting, pressing, bending, straightening, cutting, and assembly or disassembly tasks. By integrating with other hydraulic equipment, they significantly reduce manual labor and increase overall efficiency.

To operate an electric hydraulic pump, first, open the bleed nut and turn on the switch located on the oil collection block. Connect the power supply and attach the quick connector to the hydraulic device. Press the power button and allow the motor to run for 1–2 minutes before switching it off and entering the boosting mode. At this point, the pressurized hydraulic fluid will begin working, automatically increasing its pressure as the load rises until reaching up to 63MPa.

After completing the task, turn off the switch to release the pressure. Wait for the hydraulic fluid to return to the tank, then remove the quick connector, tighten the bleed nut, disconnect the power, and turn off the switch to ensure safe operation.

For proper maintenance, several key steps should be followed. First, use No. 20 hydraulic oil and ensure the oil level remains within the upper range of the sight glass. When refueling or changing oil, always filter it through an 80-mesh or finer filter. Before replacing the oil, clean the tank thoroughly, and perform oil changes every six months. Maintain an operating temperature between 10°C and 50°C. Always open the bleed nut and set the switch to the unloading position before starting the pump. If the motor becomes excessively hot during use, stop immediately and let it cool down before resuming. The pump is pre-adjusted at the factory and should not be tampered with unless using a pressure gauge. The high-pressure hose has been tested to 105MPa, but due to aging, regular inspections are necessary—every six months for general use and every three months for frequent applications. During inspection, test at 87.5MPa, and replace the hose if any damage, bulging, or leakage is detected. Bearings should be cleaned every six months, and grease should be applied during reassembly.
