On the 26th, the reporter learned from the inspection and acceptance site of the major special project “Electric drive active heave compensating marine winch development and application” organized by the Science and Technology Department of Hunan Province. China independently developed the first electric drive active heave compensation marine winch that can enter the sea 4000 meters. The overall technical level has reached the international advanced level. It is expected to break foreign monopoly and promote national marine scientific research and resource development.

In 2014, Hunan set up a major project, with Hunan University of Science and Technology, which has accumulated high-end marine R&D equipment, as the lead unit, aiming at the gaps in domestic high-end marine winch products, and researching and developing electric-driven deep sea marine winches with active heave compensation. At present, the project has broken through two key technologies: the overall design of the marine electromechanical hydraulic winch system, and the active winch compensation control for marine winches. The new type of marine winch developed is driven by AC variable frequency electric drive, and has the functions of active heave compensation and automatic cable sorting. The winch has a capacity of 4,500 meters, a maximum speed of 100 meters per minute and an active heave compensation capability of 0 to 2.5 meters. At sea level below level 4 work. Up to now, 5 national invention patents have been obtained.
